Looking Ahead: Shanghai Beer Fest

Another weekend, another reason to raise a glass. Or five.

This coming weekend, however, will give us an indisputable excuse as it heralds the city's 2nd annual Shanghai International Beer Festival.

Although I enjoy any event that allows me to "sample" (in moderation, of course...) beers from the likes of Brooklyn Brewery, Rogue, and Wells & Youngs, the Shanghai Beer Fest has a special place in my heart as their first festival occurred the weekend I arrived in the city last year (!) and it served as a great introduction indeed.

To make things even more exciting, this year Yongkang Lu favorite The Tap House will host guests at a special VIP Beer Tent on the festival's opening night that will include free-flow craft beer, bar snacks (natch), and a live band. If you're into your beers, this will be a perfect opportunity to quiz the bartenders on their selection of suds.

It promises to be a great evening, so go get your tickets at The Tap House - and soon - before they sell out.

It's my Shanghaiversary, kids!

Come help me celebrate.
