URBN Hotel

Just to round out the parental-themed posts, a quick shoutout to those who put up with mine for the week - the patient folks at URBN Hotel.

Coffee is a meal, right?

URBN is an award-winning boutique hotel on a tree-lined street in Jing'an that is designed with all locally-sourced and recycled materials. Suitcases from Dongtai Lu, woks mounted on walls, original beams and tiles... it's all very well done.

Regardless of the credentials, our whole crew couldn't have been more thrilled with the design, location, food, free daily happy hour (!), the everything at this super-central spot.

Its light-flooded dining room, home to Downstairs by David Laris, and lovely terrace provided the perfect place for our command central.

Great broccoli and kale salads...

...and even better chicken nuggets!

And what's dinner without Guinness cake for dessert?!

I had the great fortune of being able to sneak in for a night or two, and let me tell you - there is nothing more luxurious than having breakfast made for you every morning.

I'm still going through withdrawl.

Call me Eloise - hotel life could be the life for me.
